Established in 2008, Lilongwe Wildlife Centre (LWC) was the first project initiated by Lilongwe Wildlife Trust (LWT) and has now developed to become a major conservation NGO in Malawi. The primary objective of the trust is to rescue wildlife, campaign for conservation justice, and inspire individuals to value and protect nature in Malawi by working collaboratively with national and international partners. LWC is the only wildlife sanctuary in Malawi, which provides a safe haven for injured, orphaned, or abused wild animals to recover and be rehabilitated before being reintroduced to the wild. Those animals who cannot be released are provided with a permanent home at the centre.
