Ecuador is one of the most biodiverse places on the planet. Explore sustainable development and indigenous practices while participating in a 6-week internship or research project focused on sustainability. At the same time, immerse yourself in the Spanish language and Ecuadorian culture. Ecuador is the perfect place to learn about sustainability, from the Andes mountains to the Amazon rainforest and the Galapagos to the Pacific Coast. With 74 marine and terrestrial protected areas and home to over 17,000 different botanical species, it is one of the most biodiverse places on the planet. Learn about innovative sustainability development and traditional indigenous practices in this experiential learning program.
Program Highlights
Gain insights into social justice and sustainable development concepts through classroom experience and engagement with local communities.
Go on excursions to visit various sites that may include local markets, local NGOs, and other areas of interest around Quito.
Live with a homestay family in Ecuador, with daily breakfast and dinner provided.
Take 16 credits for fall or spring semester, followed by a six-week internship or research project.
Take additional 4 credits for optional language pre-session.
