Contribute to an ongoing effort in including solar as the main source of alternative energy in Nepal in this 10-day educational program abroad. The country has come up with a plan to address the energy crisis and societal development after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake in 2015 that affected 30 percent of energy infrastructure. The GREEN Nepal Program will analyze the role of alternative energy and its practicality, adaptability, and impact in rural societies of developing countries. Together with other international students, you’ll get to study in a rural village in Nepal and discover the impact of solar energy on the development of local communities and their livelihoods. It was an incredible trip, we were able to learn about the culture and stay in a remote village while learning about the electricity distribution problems.
