Best Semester Ever
by: Celia Cameron - United StatesProgram: TEAN - Australia - University of MelbourneSeriously, these months were the best of my life so far. Melbourne is an amazing city, and I think a lot of people don't consider it as much as other Australian places, but for me I feel like it had everything I could've wanted. There's so much art and good food, and there's always something to do. I attended the University of Melbourne, and the courses that I took were on the easy side, largely because I was doing what would count towards Gen Ed at my home university. The people in Australia ar...
The coffee really is better!
by: Madison Walker - United StatesProgram: TEAN - Australia - University of MelbourneTo explain my title, before arriving in Melbourne, I wasn't a huge fan of coffee. But the my program advisor from TEAN told me I had to try the coffee in Melbourne because American coffee is actually not very good. So I did! And then immediately became a coffee addict! This is about how the entire semester went. I honestly cannot find a bad thing to say about Melbourne. The people were friendly and I know I am going to remain friends with them for years to come. The TEAN staff was also very know...
6 months that change the way I see my last 20 years
by: Tom Bloxam - United KingdomProgram: TEAN - Australia - University of MelbourneStudying abroad in Melbourne through TEAN was a remarkable experience. I took trips to a variety of exciting places in nature and in the city. Melbourne is a beautiful place, the people are for the most part welcoming and enthused with visitors; the food is varied from delightful cheap dumplings to gourmet crocodile burgers to chicken parmas (a pub staple); the culture takes influence from both Europe and Asia, culminating in an exciting mix unique to the city. Through TEAN I gained an immediate...

I love to travel. Exploring new cultures and countries is one of my favorite things to do. I also found myself looking for something more in myself and my routine. I wanted to meet new people, experience and learn new things, and hopefully find myself along the way. Applying for an international program means throwing yourself into the complete unknown and coming home stronger. I learned how to be truly independent, I learned how to be happy in new circumstances, and I learned that every day can be an adventure if you make it one.

I decided to apply for an international program because I felt like I needed to learn more about myself and my goals in life. When you are living on your own, halfway across the world without anyone you know, you become very independent and discover what you are capable of.
