Dive into this exciting opportunity to work hands-on with horses on the South African coast. The project is designed to care for previously abused or neglected horses. Apart from rehabilitation, you will help with beach and bush horse trails. Also, enjoy the Indian Ocean, other beaches, dolphins and whales, and the beautiful dunes. This project allows you to work closely with horses daily. You do not need to be an experienced rider, but knowing the basics—walk, trot, and canter – is a bonus. We accommodate all levels of riding experience and will tailor your activities accordingly. The horses are well cared for and as a volunteer I felt that I could provide much needed help to make a difference. There are many different tasks to undertake each day. The family are very welcoming and full of information about all the animals they are looking after. Their philosophy of horses working for horses is wonderful as there is a real opportunity to rehabilitate the horses and put them back into useful work wherever possible.
