Fantastic

I volunteered for 2 weeks I found the whole experience to be fantastic and can't thank them enough for making my time in Namibia both useful and rewarding. Chris and the team made us feel very welcome and safe throughout the whole two weeks, even when we had an elephant banging his trunk on the front of the pick-up during patrol week! One of my most memorable experiences was during patrol week whilst sleeping under the stars and watching the space station flying overhead and seeing shooting st...

A very enjoyable and worthwhile project

This project is not for work shy people, the build week is hard graft in hot conditions but it is well worth it. The patrol week is a fantastic insight as to how elephants live, one day you won't see any, but the next it seems like they are tracking you. All in all this is a very enjoyable and worthwhile project to be on.

I find it most rewarding knowing that the herd of elephants we tracked were safe and ok. And experiencing the happiness of the farmers, looking at their smiles, because we were there to help them. What's most challenging is the work itself! I´ve never held a shovel before in my life, or mix cement with water and sand. But, I ended up loving it. It´s actually a great exercise and it can be very therapeutic. One advice I would give to those considering this placement - Just do it!
