Very worthwhile and satisfying
by: Dave Habecker - United StatesProgram: Construction Programs—Volunteer in Guatemala! Our project involved improvements at a school for special needs children. The smallest efforts were so greatly appreciated as they get by with such limited resources. Staying in a private home with a host family was an enriching experience and an unexpected bonus. Most valued were the friendships that were formed with like minded individuals that have come together to be of service to others here in Antigua. Fond memories to last a lifetime.
It was totally amazing
by: Brian O'Neill - CanadaProgram: Construction Programs—Volunteer in Guatemala! It was totally amazing, to work in another part of the world was an eye opening experience. The country I live in is so resourceful, but tocome here and help the less fortunate was totally fulfilling. I totally recommend this program. I got more out of it than what i gave.
Construction crew: building relationships
by: Viha Vishwanathan - United StatesProgram: Construction Programs—Volunteer in Guatemala!Antigua was a beautiful city that we were lucky to spend time in! We were able to help with construction in a town about 45 minutes away from Antigua, and we helped paint in a municipal building where women in the city could come to talk about issues that they were having. The staff at Maximo Nivel were very accommodating and nice, and whenever we had questions they were always happy to help. Guatemala is a lovely, safe country with warm people.
