These children spend 365 days a year working in the streets and markets, selling goods and performing with their parents to help their families earn a living. The Street Children Program in Ecuador focuses on giving these children some enjoyment in their lives, along with education. This project is popular with the children and their families as it gives them opportunities and perspectives on life they would never have otherwise been provided with. Work consists of taking basic school lessons, playing with the children, providing hygiene awareness and introducing them to new activities and games. I feel a lot more confident in myself. It’s completely understandable to be hesitant about volunteering abroad as you're going to a new country with people you don’t know, but everyone is incredibly friendly and approachable and you end up making friends and experiences for life!

It was an amazing experience. All of the children express so much love and happiness towards you, it really is heart warming.
