Volunteers on the Teaching project will be placed within a local village school, teaching local Laotian children from disadvantaged family backgrounds. The students range in age from 6 to 12 years old and teaching will follow the school curriculum. Volunteers can also be placed in a school for deaf and blind students where they teach children with sight and hearing disabilities, across various age categories. On all Teaching placements, volunteers will focus on teaching English and will also assist the local teachers during lessons covering other subjects, including art, math, sport, handicraft and geography.
