IVHQ volunteers in Greece on the Special Needs Support project will work in a primary school which provides care and education for children with special needs. The school is the only one of its kind in Chios and provides education and care for these children while their parents are at work. The children who attend the center are aged between 4 and 11 years and have a range of disabilities from mild physical and mental disorders to children with severely limiting conditions such as cerebral palsy. To participate on this project, volunteers must be qualified in Special Education and/or Physical Therapies, or currently completing studies in these fields.
Program Highlights
Programs are available year-round in Greece at an affordable price of US$419 for 1 week
The IVHQ Greece program begins on the first and third Monday of every month. You can choose to volunteer for durations ranging from 3 weeks to 12 weeks.
The Greece volunteer program is located in Athens, Greece. You can explore the Greek Islands in your free time.
Greece program fees include 24/7 in-country support, airport pick-up, program orientation, volunteer placement, accommodation, meals.
Volunteers can fill their free time visiting the many historical sites, beautiful beaches, dining on incredible food or even taking a day trip to the surrounding islands!
