The volunteer teaching program was a great experience. Having never taught children before the first couple of days were a bit daunting but by day three I was very comfortable. The kids were adorable and loved interacting with us. Just seeing their faces light up each day when we arrived was amazing. I will never forget them. This is a great option for short term volunteers. Bilbao is gorgeous, safe and really welcoming. There are loads of lovely restaurants, shops and markets so it is a nice pl...

I went on a projects abroad trip to Spain with my school during transition year. I went for three weeks. We worked on conservancy, worked with the kids and painted in the school, and climbed Mt Pagasarri. The communication before and during the trip really put my mind at ease. I had an amazing time and projects abroad made the whole process easy and worry-free. Myself and my classmates enjoyed the time we had together. I had an incredible, life- changing experience! The time I spent with Instituto Hemingway was one of the best experiences of my life. I learned so much, gained so much experience in the field of human rights, met the most amazing people and was lucky to see the beauty of Spain. Despite coming alone, I made great friends who I travelled with and I stayed with an amazing apartment downtown. I cannot recommend this experience enough, it helped me grow as a person and in my career, thank you Instituto Hemingway for making it so memorable.

Studying abroad is a unique experience and every student has its own experience. None of them will be the same. My interest in traveling abroad was not just to explore the world, but to study the world. I was blessed enough to have been to Europe before, and my experiences there prior to studying in Spain helped open up my mind to a life there.
