Not only did I meet incredible people who made this experience more exciting but I got to learn so much about conservation and protected marine areas. All the science involved was so interesting and fullfilling which I have fallen in love with. Learning how to dive and research at the same time has become my favorite hobby and I got to do it with my friends which made it amazing. The best weeks of my year.

It was an incredible opportunity to be a part of a marine research project. This left me with an indelible mark on my professional and personal growth. It was collective commitment of people from various backgrounds in safeguarding our precious marine ecosystems for generations to come.

I was certified as a recreational open water diver in 2016 in Canada. Post-pandemic, I was so eager to dive for an extended period of time and learn new skills. I am a marketing professional and reconnecting with water and the ocean sparked the desire to see if I could make diving my life as a marketer.

I have always loved traveling and scuba diving. I love exploring new cultures, places, and dive spots. I also was very keen to explore Indonesia because I had been inside so much in England during the pandemic and was excited to go and start a new life somewhere warm, next to the ocean! I had previously spent time in Bali so I knew I loved it and wanted to go back.

I was inspired to go abroad because I learn the most out of life when I am exposing myself to new cultures and places. It really opens my eyes to the privilege I hold and helps me understand what impact I can have. Going abroad helps form me into the most well-rounded and down to earth version of myself.
