Explore beautiful Nepal, home to eight of the ten largest mountains in the world, including Mount Everest. Take a trip back in time when you visit the famous city of Kathmandu and navigate its winding, unpaved roads lined by terracotta-roofed homes. Nepal is a unique experience that you do not want to miss! Volunteers on this project will live near the monastery and teach English to the monks there a few hours each day. These monks are both children and adults, all of whom seek an interactive and all-inclusive learning environment. Volunteers' responsibilities may include assisting a local teacher, teaching a class of their own, coming up with creative and fun lesson plans and organizing after-school games and activities for the children

I especially enjoyed the meals and just standing in line and then eating with the young monks
by: RonaldProgram: Nepal - Teaching in Buddhist MonasteriesI especially enjoyed the meals and just standing in line and then eating with the young monks. The food was very good and I had no stomach problems the whole time. The little kids are very sweet and full of energy!
I had an amazing trip
by: FannyProgram: Nepal - Teaching in Buddhist MonasteriesI had an amazing trip, probably the best I’ve ever done. My most memorable experiences were teaching the monks some dance on the evening, going to the puja outside the monastery with them and watching the female World Cup with some of them at 1 am. I also did the mardi trek with others volunteers and it was indescribable.
