Great volunteer experience in Israel

by: Jenny M - United KingdomProgram: Israel - Desert Wildlife Program

I had an amazing time volunteering with wildlife in Israel. It's a completely unique environment and the staff running the project were very friendly and welcoming. The work was never boring and the animals are very well cared for (as are the volunteers). It was a very comfortable, relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and the staff made sure we got to experience life outside of the project as well. I'd recommend it to anyone, not only for the volunteer work but also as an opportunity to see Israel a...

Everyone on the GoEco team was very responsive and easy to communicate with. From start to finish, this group was very helpful, as well as the other workers within the shelter. I would definitely do another program if the opportunity presents itself.

I had such an incredible time working at the Desert Wildlife Program in the desert of Israel this past summer, and I would absolutely go back to volunteer again. This volunteer program is really unique because it gave me the opportunity to be exposed to extremely exotic animals and aid in their recovery, or general housekeeping of their environments. I was inspired to volunteer because I believe human beings are born to travel, experience all kind of things, embrace challenges, and of course enjoy the moments. On a more personal level, volunteering abroad could help me grow as a person and fulfill my wish to experience a different culture and broaden my own horizon. I also believe this is something you need to do at least once in a lifetime if you are given the chance; it will be inspiring, manifesting, and even life-changing.
