Eco Caminhos is a sustainable farm located in Nova Friburgo - Rio de Janeiro, we are 150km far from Rio de Janeiro city.

What kind of work will we do here?

We work under the principles of Permaculture. We are mostly working with Bioconstruction techniques and Agroforestry systems.

What is the minimum period of stay in the farm?

People who want to volunteer on the farm and learn about Permaculture practices can start with a minimum period of 1 week. We have two types of volunteer programs.

How many hours i'll be working in the farm?

Work usually starts at 7:00 am to 4:30 pm every Monday till Friday. Those who choose the Short-term period will be working 3 days per week.

It's a great opportunity to experience permaculture, bioconstruction, and agroforestry in practice, as well as living in a multicultural community. By allowing a week of hands-on experience at the ecofarm, they also helped me so much with my dissertation, in which I address ecovillages and proposals for solutions to the climate crisis. I spent a week at Eco Cahminos and it was definitely one of my favorite times in Brazil during my month there. I feel like I learned so much in just a week from Bart and the other staff. Everyone is welcoming and really cares about the great work they are doing. The work is tough but very rewarding especially if you have a passion for the environment/sustainable living. Ad EcoCaminhos ho trascorso 2 settimane meravigliose! Due settimane dove ho conosciuto gente stupenda, con molta voglia di fare, e molto preparata. Ho imparato molto, con un giusto bilancio di teoria, pratica e divertimento. Il tutto, a diretto contatto con la foresta pluviale Brasiliana. Non potevo chiedere di meglio. Altamente consigliato!
