Are you interested in working with young learners? Join our volunteer program at the Young Learners Qualifying Center, a nonprofit organization that manages customized education and social projects for underprivileged teens in Brazil. The aim is to provide better education and job opportunities to young people and give them an advantage in a competitive labor market. As a volunteer, you will co-deliver or teach English classes and interact with the students. You will also assist with preparing cultural activities, presentations, and classes. You will accompany them on trips and site visits. While working with these teens, you will help them develop the skills necessary to work as an apprentice, which is allowed through the “Lei da Aprendizagem” (Learning Law) approved in 2000.
Program Highlights
Prepare activities and classes for teens participating in a qualifying course.
Help young people develop skills that will make them qualified to take up an apprentice job.
Make a difference in the lives of underprivileged youth in Brazil.
Go on trips and site visits together with students.
Immerse in the culture and language of Brazil through daily interaction with locals.

A chance to grow professionally and to learn more about Brazil
by: Ilari - FinlandProgram: Young Learners Qualifying CenterI spent three months with Elo, mostly teaching English. The staff and volunteers are friendly, committed and flexible. Depending on your education, experience, personality, and (language) skills you'll have plenty of different opportunities... Don't hesitate to ask! Working with youth was fun and rewarding. I'm happy for having done my internship here.
An unforgettable experience!
by: Hannah - AustraliaProgram: Young Learners Qualifying CenterI absolutely recommend volunteering and/or doing an internship with ELO. In such a short time, the staff became like family to me. It was such a great experience teaching the youth English and getting to know them, exchanging our cultures and making a difference. If you have this opportunity, do not hesitate!
