ABI Sydney Internship

September 11, 2024by: William Higo - AustraliaProgram: Creative Internships in Sydney

My internship in Sydney has been an amazing adventure. After graduating, I wanted to dive make a start in my career but hit a few bumps along the way. That’s when I signed up for the ABI program, which really came through for me. They helped me connect with companies and agencies in Sydney and got me ready for the internship by refining my resume, updating my portfolio, and keeping in touch with potential employers. When I first arrived in Sydney, I was a bit unsure of myself, but the company I interned with was very supportive and helped me adjust to the new environment. Over the months, I started with smaller tasks but gradually took on more important work. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I’m really grateful to ABI for helping me get started as a designer.

Although the cost of the program is pricey, I would say this would greatly benefit people who are lacking relevant experience for creative industries! The ABI team was really helpful and I was able to land an internship that opened up many doors for me after. As someone who’s always dreamt of working in Sydney, I personally found this worth it!

Such a rewarding experience!

The whole experience was very rewarding, from the ABI coaching to the actual internships. It was really helpful to have the online coaching, as well as being able to speak to industry professionals to give insights and help you set your professional goals. The ABI team was very supportive and encouraging at every step of the way. I ended up being able to intern with two different companies during my time - Wasamedia and Ginger & Smart. Not only did I learn a lot of new professional and personal skills, I also got hired as a full time junior graphic designer at the end of my internship.
