Become a part of this volunteer program, which revolves around the theme “Food Justice: Coffee & Communities”. Based in agricultural Los Santos, Costa Rica, it is open to anyone with more than 2 years of high school Spanish. Explore different farming practices in Costa Rica, from the mountains to the valleys! What impact does international demand for Costa Rican coffee have on local communities? What does local food production have to do with agroforestry practices? From cultivation to consumption, dive deep into food systems by learning from communities. Live with a host family for the entire six weeks!

The longest I had left home was 2 weeks, and the longest I had been away from my parents was only one week. I had never left my twin sister for longer than two nights and texted her the whole time I was gone. Such connection to the people I was leaving behind wasn't possible here.
