Come to Zanzibar and volunteer on this teaching and community development project located on the island. The project works with a number of different schools and community institutions where you will be volunteering and doing a variety of different task. Volunteers will work in a range of different schools including preschools, primary and secondary schools where you will support local teachers in educating and playing with children. You will also have the opportunity to work with adults by teaching life skills at the local tourism institute. Volunteers may also have the chance to get involved with the local beach and marine conservation programme. The activities you undertake will depend on the time of year of your visit, school holidays and the needs of the project, but there is always plenty to do. This project is ideal for volunteers with a keen interest in education and who work well with children. For volunteers who wish to lead lessons, a teaching qualification will be needed, such as a TEFL or TESOL certificate.

At Better Me, we partner with local schools and community programs—such as Korando Educational Center, Kisumu Children’s Remand Home, and our Mobile Library in the Nyalenda slums—to change that story. As a Better Me volunteer, you’ll support after-school activities in English, Creative Arts, Music, Swimming, and Physical Education. This youth development project was started to provide young people living on the streets with a safe daily drop-off center and to mediate between the youth, families, and schools. Today, it has expanded and caters to at-risk youth in the town of Knysna. It is the perfect project for those interested in social work, sports, art and music, teaching, and counseling. As a volunteer, you'll assist a team of loving childcare workers and social workers. This is a fantastic project for educators, counselors, social workers, psychologists, and individuals with an interest in these fields. The main goal is to assist in and support the daily program organized for the youth attending the center voluntarily. If you wish to join this project as part of a social work internship, we can arrange this. The center is set in one of the poorer areas of Knysna. Their daily program includes modules in life skills, art therapy, sports, numbers, literacy, reading, music, personal development, and other topics. It takes place during the South African school term and isn't available from 15th December to 15th January. A fun-based program is also available and revolves around soccer or talent shows.

Green Life Volunteers is a registered non-profit organization or association in Costa Rica. We just earn enough to cover operational expenses, like payments for office space, employee services, and basic organizational costs. We work hard to provide volunteers with an amazing experience, with a lot of hours thrown into administration, logistics, phone calls, Skyping, emailing, and so forth. The minimal fee to cover the basic operational needs will be covered through the higher program fee required in the first week. We have excellent projects throughout Costa Rica, which are a result of many years of collaboration and research. The projects we collaborate with are in actual need of help and have experience working with volunteers. This guarantees that you will have a great time and an awesome experience. The projects are always run by local members of the community, non-profit, and with a benefit for people, nature, or animals. The guest families have been handpicked by local staff, and all of them have years of experience hosting foreigners and volunteers.
