Volunteers taking part in short-term volunteer projects in Germany will be responsible for teaching one-to-one conversational English courses to students at the Center, as well as instructing small groups (anywhere from 2 – 5 students). Students come from a plethora of backgrounds, with ages ranging anywhere from 12 – 70 years old. However, most students will be migrants or the children of migrants, hailing from various Arab countries. Volunteers will not only serve as teachers, but also as cultural diplomats who represent their home country to the community in Halle (Saale). They play an important role in helping with communal activities meant to increase cross-cultural exchanges. In addition to teaching, volunteers will enroll in German language courses (3 hours a week). The advent of additional language courses is meant to further immerse them in local Arabic/German culture, allowing them to better communicate with their students, as well as locals in Halle. The Volunteer to Teach English and Learn German language program spans anywhere from 1 – 12 weeks, with volunteers staying with local host families during their time in Halle (Saale).

It's geared toward participants interested in starting their own charity or who want hands-on experience in the day-to-day running of a grassroots NGO. Volunteers and interns observe and assist the coordinator and director with office work, as well as in-community project support, administrative work, and the coordination and supervision of community programs and participating volunteers. The NGO management volunteers and interns also help ensure the well-being of our volunteers and their coordination and full integration into various programs offered, as well as into the social life of the community. The foundation relies on NGO volunteers and interns to ensure smooth operations and therefore requires flexible and dedicated volunteers. Direct work with our primary beneficiaries is an essential part of the work of Aldeas de Paz, so NGO volunteers and interns are also expected to participate in foundation-wide events and activities involving our beneficiaries.

Bordering the Gulf of Guinea in West Africa, Ghana is the former British colony of the Gold Coast. Ghanaian children grow up mainly exposed to their local tribal languages, such as Ga, Twi, and Ewe, but English remains the country’s official uniting language, and is needed to communicate with fellow Ghanaians in education and business. As an English teaching volunteer you can therefore have a huge impact, helping local children in their speaking and conversational skills. Ghanaian schools are often understaffed and poorly resourced, but you can help to improve this situation by volunteering. The impact you have on the lives of your students will be obvious and long lasting, but you will also be part of a much wider international volunteer network, which is making a really positive contribution to the communities in which we work.

Green Life Volunteers is a registered non-profit organization or association in Costa Rica. We just earn enough to cover operational expenses, like payments for office space, employee services, and basic organizational costs. We work hard to provide volunteers with an amazing experience, with a lot of hours thrown into administration, logistics, phone calls, Skyping, emailing, and so forth. The minimal fee to cover the basic operational needs will be covered through the higher program fee required in the first week. We have excellent projects throughout Costa Rica, which are a result of many years of collaboration and research. The projects we collaborate with are in actual need of help and have experience working with volunteers. This guarantees that you will have a great time and an awesome experience. The projects are always run by local members of the community, non-profit, and with a benefit for people, nature, or animals. The guest families have been handpicked by local staff, and all of them have years of experience hosting foreigners and volunteers. They are always happy to welcome you, and they will be your family away from home.

The primary work of Long-Term Volunteers (LTVs) is to accompany visiting groups, facilitating their experience and interpreting the Mission's work. LTVs help arrange itineraries, accompany groups to work sites, analyze, and ensure all safety protocols are met and logistical needs are arranged. The experience of Long-Term Volunteers at the San Lucas Mission is focused on learning. By working with Guatemalans and accompanying them in their daily activities, they gain insight into the richness of Mayan culture, the Mission's work, and life in Guatemala. LTVs become a part of Mission projects, form relationships in the community, and learn about the community development efforts of the San Lucas Mission. While participating in this cross-cultural exchange, we hope that they become more open, aware, and educated global citizens.
Bugeme Initiative for Development (BID)

The Bugembe Initiative for Development (BID) is an action-oriented, community-based organization dedicated to empowering women, youth, and vulnerable individuals. Formed in 2011 with its base in Bugembe, Jinja District, the Bugembe Initiative for Development (BID) is an action-oriented, community-based organization dedicated to empowering women, youth, and vulnerable individuals through a holistic, socio-economic approach. Diseases, literacy, unemployment, poverty, ignorance, wars, and natural disasters in Uganda have resulted in situations of vulnerability and moral degeneration. The most affected people are the children, women, youth, and the elderly. Many current community initiatives fall short in coping with the ever-increasing number of poor women, needy youths, and vulnerable children. BID Uganda was born out of the need to reach out to these neglected, forgotten, HIV/AIDS sufferers, orphans, abandoned street children, homeless, and those in extreme poverty within the communities and our society who are hurting in life. At BID Uganda, we are always looking for volunteers to help us administer our programmes and get involved in the community.
