They have lost their parents due to various reasons, including accidents and deadly diseases (i.e., HIV/AIDS). The orphanage is located within a local community, and you will help with daily activities as well as educate widows, youth, and people living with HIV/AIDS. You will contribute to our efforts in educating locals on how to take care of themselves. The vulnerable children in Tanzania always need extra support. Given that schools and daycare centers are underfunded with limited resources, this Childcare Project always appreciates any support, love, and care provided as well as any advancements to enhance the capacity of the institutions. Volunteers work with placement directors and other local staff, for which we require full cooperation. The Childcare Project involves teaching, playing with, and caring for the children and assisting teachers and staff in providing basic education, teaching hygiene, and healthy living. Volunteers assist with other activities like cooking and cleaning. They also help with implementing class schedules, creating class decorations, and enhancing the capacity of the centers by supporting the advancement of administrative departments. Participation in any of these activities depends on how comfortable you are with tending to the task provided. If you feel uncomfortable with a task, it is okay to be substituted by a staff member. Volunteers give a direct contribution of $50 to the center.
