This opportunity gave me many valuable life lessons. For my first time studying abroad and being on an airplane, I really took it to the next level. Yes, it was intimidating but I'm not one to turn away from challenges. I'm so glad that I didn't because I met so many wonderful people, learned Korean culture and language, and got to have life altering experiences through it all. Whenever I share my story I always tell them to "Go and do it! You won't regret it!" I will forever be thankful for all the support I had and the friends I made along the way. The best part of it all is that I am still in contact with the people I met and we plan to see each other here soon!!! South Korea really opened my eyes and helped me see the world through a different lens. So take that leap, face those challenges, and explore the world!!

My experience was nothing short of amazing. I traveled alone for the first time, but it was well worth. Don't let your fears stop you from doing what you want!! Seoul was beautiful, and I will definitely be back!

A Guide to Winter Study Abroad in South Korea

Best Locations

South Korea is a small country with big opportunity. While nearly all major cities are modern and English-friendly, there are a few that are more popular for winter study abroad programs in South Korea.

Seoul. Whoever said New York is the city that never sleeps has obviously never been to Seoul. The capital of South Korea is fast-paced with plenty of study abroad opportunities. A city with a population of over 10 million may seem intimidating at first, but you’ll soon find foreigners are welcomed with open arms.

Daegu. Daegu is the perfect city for anyone looking to study abroad in South Korea for winter. The city is primarily known as a college town with students from all over the world. Daegu is also full of rich history which will allow you to fully immerse yourself in Korean culture.

Chuncheon. Chuncheon always has an event taking place, or an adventure to be had. The city is one of South Korea’s most popular tourist destinations, and after studying abroad there, you’ll see why. Surrounded by natural beauty and steeped in Korean culture, Chuncheon is the perfect city to spend a winter studying abroad.
