Learn Russian in the EU offers personalized, for-credit academic study abroad programs, hosted at Daugavpils University. Undergraduates can enroll for one semester or two consecutive semesters (for an academic year) and receive European Credit Transfer (ECTS) credits from Daugavpils University. Our AY/semester study abroad programs include two components: 1) Core Course: Intensive Russian as a Foreign Language (interactive communication skills, grammar, phonetics) geared towards different target proficiency levels. 2) Elective courses, depending on the selected programs: Russian Literature and Culture, East European Studies, Baltic Studies, History, and other subjects.

In Riga, Latvia, an intensive and supportive environment for Russian language study is paired with a homestay option to provide an immersive language and cultural experience. Out-of-classroom experiences and special lectures and workshops give you ample opportunity to use Russian while introducing you to local Latvian identity, history, and current issues. Learn Russian at a school located in the heart of the city of Riga in Latvia. The school is located just across the street from the National Opera House and near the central train and bus stations. The school has 10 bright classrooms, and all are fully equipped with the latest in learning technology, including computers with internet access. The school has its own residence, a computer room, and wifi for students. In the student lounge, there is a drink machine to serves hot coffee, tea, or chocolate. The school is surrounded by many cafés in a neighborhood that offers dozens of entertainment possibilities, from the Old Town to cinemas and sports and leisure centers. Students have two course options: four lessons daily, for 20 private lessons per week, or six lessons daily, for 30 private lessons per week. Each lesson lasts approximately 45 minutes. Classes accept a maximum of eight students. The program includes homestay accommodation with a host family, partial board, and students are allowed one load of laundry per week.
