Spend the summer in the modern and historic city of Berlin with AIFS Abroad! You’ll earn up to 6 credits per session (12 credits total) through various courses at Humboldt-Universität. Courses are taught in English or German—no previous German language study is required. You will live in a university apartment with a shared kitchen and bathroom. Near the subway, commuting to campus will be easier from your apartment. A meal card to subsidize the cost of lunches on campus is included in your program fee. The Freie Universität Berlin International Summer and Winter University (FUBiS) is an intensive academic program through which students can earn credits that may be counted towards their degrees at their home institutions. FUBiS sessions run for three to six weeks and take place both in summer and winter. Students can choose between subject courses (mostly taught in English) and German language and culture courses. The 50+ subject courses are offered within the fields of Architecture, Art History, Politics, Law, History, Media Studies, Economics, Sustainability, Literature, Philosophy, Entrepreneurship, and Music. German language and culture courses are available for up to five different proficiency levels (A1 to C1). Field trips are an integral part of all our courses. In addition, FUBiS offers excursions such as to the Berlin Reichstag building and a river boat tour through downtown Berlin or day trips to Potsdam and Leipzig.

The GLS Campus Berlin is a green oasis in the very center of Berlin - and the only language school in Germany with a 14000 square meter campus, including accommodation on site. Our Start German course addresses the needs of beginners. Its content follows the standards of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) for level A1.1 (beginners with no prior knowledge).
