A flashpoint during the Cold War, the modern city is filled with ambition and future prospects seemingly coinciding with those of Europe as a whole. The enviable rival of Paris, Berlin is dripping with Prussian architecture that displays the might of the once-great European power, yet also embodies the qualities one can expect from a modern cosmopolitan center with music, fashion, and delicious restaurants on every corner, sporting local cuisine as well as international dishes from around the world.
