In Japan, most office workers are at their workplace until 9-10 pm every day, while school and kindergarten finish at around 3:15 pm. For this reason, parents need to keep their children entertained and supervised in the afternoon and evening hours while they aren't at home. Therefore, it is highly common to send kids to privately run after-school clubs.

The Child Care/Teaching internship takes place at an after-school club attended by around 300 children from the ages 3 to 10 while their parents are still working. Their lively staff and friendly accommodation make it a fun experience for young ones and a place where parents have the assurance of their kids' safety. Activities in the center include working on their homework, playing games with the staff and other children, eating snacks, learning English, enjoying sports, and so much more. The center's childcare philosophy is to provide care that keeps kids mentally and physically healthy and happy.

During the placement, the intern assists with the planning, coordination, and execution of various educational events and workshops that are designed to support the social development of students.
