Our Pre-University Summer School is open to all students aged 16-18 who are considering entering higher education and are ready to get a taste of what it means to study at a top university in the UK. 

With two sessions available between June and August, this two-week summer school is a unique combination of serious academic study and fun-packed social activities—all in an international community based on our beautiful parkland campus in the city of York, regularly named one of the best places to live and visit in the UK. 

Choose from a variety of academic subject options, designed and taught by research and teaching staff from relevant departments at the University. Co-curricular sessions on academic skills, intercultural training, employability, and university preparation introduce the key skills that will support you through university and beyond. Full board accommodation and a rich schedule of cultural visits in York, day trips across the North of England, and daily social activities complete the experience.
