Founded in 1367, the University of Pécs is the oldest university in Hungary. With its nine schools and 20,000 students, the university plays a key role in Hungarian higher education. We are truly an international university in the heart of Central and Eastern Europe. We launched our first English-taught degree program more than 35 years ago. Today, we offer more than 60 degree programs and preparatory courses in English and German, while the number of our international students has reached 4,500. We are located in Pécs, one of the most beautiful central European cities, with a rich culture dating back to the Roman Empire. The city of Pécs was designated to be a European Capital of Culture in 2010. Pécs is a vibrant yet peaceful and student-friendly University town.
