The University of New Orleans' UNO-Japan: Study at Doshisha University takes students for five weeks to Kyoto. One of the most picturesque, historically, and culturally rich cities in Japan, Kyoto serves as the ideal backdrop for students to learn the Japanese language and take courses in fields such as Japanese Language, Literature, Culture, Art, and History. Incorporating honors options in the courses, the program has something for just about everyone.

This five-week adventure in the city of Kyoto is where students will learn and live in the cradle of Japanese civilization. The ancient capital of Japan has a rich tradition in the arts, literature, and language. Students will participate with other students on a fascinating journey of excitement and discovery. Each of the two courses carries three hours of credit and emphasizes the exploration of this culturally rich world. Optional field trips include a day in Kyoto, Osaka, and Nara.
