The Bachelor of Arts in Musicology at the University of Graz, offered in collaboration with the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, is a full-time program that spans six semesters, amounting to 180 ECTS. The program is designed to provide an immersive and comprehensive understanding of music across various cultural contexts. With instruction primarily in German, the program is tailored for students who have a foundational interest in music and possess basic knowledge of general music theory and European musical notation​.

Students will explore a diverse range of musicological areas including ethnomusicology, jazz, popular music, music through the ages, music aesthetics, music psychology, and acoustics. The partnership with the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz enriches the program, offering students a broad spectrum of educational and career possibilities. This interdisciplinary approach is aimed at developing well-rounded scholars equipped to pursue further education or careers in various fields related to music​.
