The Jerusalem American School (JAS) is looking for international volunteers with the time, talent, and passion to work with students after school. Assist with and lead informal educational activities in both primary and secondary school settings. This program caters to the need of the school for volunteer support, complementing teaching and mentoring roles. 

JAS defines general volunteering as “implementing tasks or providing services for the school community without financial recompense and in a role that does not replace a paid member of staff (teacher, classroom assistant, trainers, or school administrator)”. 

Whilst learning support volunteering can take many forms within the schools, JAS considers this role to include providing assistance to a classroom teacher or other school staff in a non-teaching role; providing assistance in after-school activities; helping deliver the services of the school canteen and school fundraising; assisting during school sports days, carnivals, and other events; helping operate the School Art club and STEM lab; and assisting paid staff with minor school improvements (e.g. painting, grounds maintenance).
