I had an amazing time
by: Sebastian Rachid - ColombiaProgram: Internships in New YorkLLooking back, NYC was an amazing experience, and I truly learned a lot about what it means to work in a USA-based company. However, I think sharing some feedback about the production company we worked with is important. While I’m grateful for the opportunities and connections I gained, the environment wasn’t ideal. Damon mentioned some issues that arose, and I’d encourage you to revisit what he shared. For me personally, we often didn’t have much to do and weren’t treated very kindly, which ...
Incredibly informative and great overall experience
by: Tusmo Yassin - United StatesProgram: Internships in New YorkDuring the duration of my internship I learned a lot of valuable skills and the intern group provided me with a wealth of experience. I worked for a non profit organisation, where I was able to gain an understanding of how an ngo operates and the ins and outs of operational management. I was able to gain a lot of transferable skills which prepared me for a career in public health and ngo related work.
It's amazing to hear you found your internship experience to be so valuable, Tusmo! Thank you for sharing your experience in New York and we can't wait to see where you go next in your career!
Good Opportunity
by: Jaime Sanz - SpainProgram: Internships in New YorkMy intership experience was very good. It’s a great chance for people that are midway their carrier and it’s hard to find abroad internships. The inter group was very helpful with our social life outside the internship and gave us lots of chances to explore we were allocated at. The only problem I found was that in terms of internship opportunities there wasn’t a lot of options (or at least for me), and that while other interns in my company where paid I wasn’t.

What inspired you to travel abroad?
Its a bit of a long story, but in short, I heard about The Intern Group’s Hong Kong program through a friend. I loved the concept and the values of what they were doing and decided I wanted to be a part of it. As someone who started work at a young age, I can really appreciate the huge value in gaining successful work experience, and I wanted to help create opportunities for people from all around the world.

What inspired you to travel abroad?
I was working in Madrid in a finance company and realized that putting interns in touch with companies would be really beneficial for everyone. Madrid is becoming more and more international and it is also a great destination for foreigners. It made a lot of sense! I got in touch with David who was a friend from university because I had heard that he thought the same and was creating The Intern Group. I am very glad that I did so, because I now form part of this amazing team!

What inspired you to travel abroad?
In 2013 I had just completed my Master’s in International Relations and come to the end of a large project I had been working on for a Political Risk Consultancy. I was looking for a new international challenge. Having completed an internship at Citigroup from 2007 to 2008, I knew what it took to complete an international internship and the incredible benefits internships could bring.
