Thai Animal Sanctuary

The inception of the rescue center dates back to 2007 in Baan Unrak School, Sangklaburi, Western Thailand. It was during this time that Gemma Ashford, a volunteer at the school, discovered the dire situation of street dogs in the area. With no available assistance and the closest veterinarian located hours away, these dogs were left to suffer from disease and starvation. Determined to make a difference, Gemma collaborated with the school's founder, Didi Anuraga, to provide nourishment to the dogs. This initial effort soon expanded into a comprehensive sterilization and vaccination program.
