Sommerhochschule - University of Vienna or the University of Vienna Summer School was established in 1949 and has, since then, offered international summer programs annually. We aim to fulfill the university’s educational mission while bringing back and promoting understanding between Americans and Austrians, which has been destroyed during the World War II. Today, our Summer School offers a multidimensional survey of Europe and the EU’s present development. Students examine different aspects of political culture in Europe as well as the decision-making processes within EU institutions. For four weeks, participants enroll in advanced European Studies courses and learn German through language courses for all proficiency levels.
