Library Development Program in India

Volunteer in the three-month Library Development Program (LDP), which involves weekly storytelling with children and 3 sessions: 6 reading aloud, 3 activities, and 3 assessments in a government school (offline session). We select government schools without libraries and provide them with library kits containing storybooks in English and Hindi, a reader's chart with names of the most prominent and punctual readers, jewels, and badges for committee members. Students hold an election to choose their library committee leaders, including a president and vice president.
