SAI Programs

Ever since my freshman year in High School, I knew I wanted to study abroad. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to fly to another country, learn the language, eat the food, experience the culture, and get school credit! By the time I was a freshman in college, I was researching different countries and cities that were potential candidates to study abroad in. I officially decided to study abroad in Florence, Italy by the summer between my Freshman and Sophomore year. To this day, it has absolutely been the best experience I have had in my academic career.  

I made the decision that I was going to study abroad in college, back in high school. My family is not big on family vacation travels, and I knew I was missing out. When my older sister studied abroad her Senior year of college, I was extremely jealous and knew I wanted to follow in her footsteps. I knew going into college that I wanted to study abroad. My first time abroad was in Paris when I was nine. My family went for two weeks over Christmas and New Years, and it was simply a life-changing experience. I traveled abroad after that, to Puerto Rico, Mexico twice, and Italy. I wanted to study abroad because I thought it would be a great opportunity for me to be immersed in another culture and learn about different cultures by traveling. I also wanted to be able to practice my French skills, as I had taken three semesters of college French.
