Becoming Italian

The Siena program was a wonderful way to become fully immersed in Italian culture. The city of Siena is the perfect size, big enough so there's plenty to do while small enough to not become overwhelming. My host family was so great, and I felt like a real part of their family. The program offered interesting classes and trips to different parts of Italy. Overall it was a wonderful way to really understand what it is to be an Italian.

I really wanted to go abroad and spend time really living in another country. I am also trying to become fluent in Italian and knew that the only way to do so was to live in the country.
