Refugee Legal is the largest provider of free specialist legal aid to refugees, asylum seekers and disadvantaged migrants in Australia. They focus on providing legal assistance for individuals seeking legal permission to stay in Australia and reunite with family members. Their approach combines both direct and strategic legal assistance. Refugee Legal offers various services, including telephone advice line, evening advice service, daytime casework, TPV clinics, strategic test case litigation, and client and community information sessions. They provide free legal representation for their clients and offer assistance to those in immigration detention in Victoria and across Australia. Last year, Refugee Legal provided assistance to 14,146 clients.
