RARE AmeriCorps stands for "Resource Assistance for Rural Environments," and it is a program that operates within the AmeriCorps network. RARE AmeriCorps members work to support rural communities in Oregon by providing assistance with community development, natural resource management, and environmental conservation efforts. The primary mission of RARE AmeriCorps is to strengthen rural communities in Oregon by providing skilled support and resources to address community development needs. This includes assisting with economic development, environmental stewardship, and community engagement initiatives.

Members make a significant impact on the communities they serve by helping to build capacity, foster collaboration, and implement sustainable solutions to address community needs. Their service contributes to the long-term vitality and resilience of rural communities in Oregon. Service terms typically last for 11 months, during which members commit to full-time service. This opening will run from September 2024 to July 2025. Position is only for US citizens and permanent residents.
