I came into the program extremely excited to both engage with a small community and explore the more well known parts of Peru. I think that my biggest expectation was that the program would be both a fun and rewarding experience and that expectation was definitely met, if not exceeded. My expectations for my program were that I would learn about a new culture and meet new people. The program met those expectations, but it also did so much more. Going into my trip to Peru I expected to do community service, practice my Spanish, hopefully make some new friends and experience a new culture.
