This summer I went to Kenya with projects abroad. I spent two weeks volunteering with giraffes and doing conservation work. My time was absolutely amazing and I met so many new friends. I had such a good time I am already planning my next volunteer trip to Peru with them next year.

    Join the Conservation Program of Projects Abroad, a project based at the Soysambu Conservancy in Kenya. It allows you to get involved with a range of activities in a 48,000-acre reserve situated in the Great Rift Valley. The place is a breeding ground and home to diverse wildlife species, including the endangered Rothschild’s Giraffe. Together with other young volunteers, you will help with ongoing activities wherein one of the primary goals is to keep track of the Rothschild's giraffe population as part of a protection effort. You will also assist with manual tasks, such as gathering data on various species within the area; getting rid of alien plants; preventing soil erosion; and repairing roads or fences. You will stay at a dormitory in the reserve, together with other volunteers....
