Project Laut

Established in 2020 by Joma Dix, a Canadian-born marine biologist and SSI Divemaster Instructor, Project Laut is a noble initiative dedicated to increasing awareness and enhancing the information landscape for the critically endangered Hawksbill sea turtles. Amidst the challenges posed by global industrial and developmental progress, which often come at the expense of the environment, Project Laut focuses on addressing threats such as oil drilling, climate change, plastic pollution, and more. Project Laut distinguishes itself by spotlighting the movement of Hawksbill sea turtle populations in Indonesia and the Coral Triangle.
