I was so happy to be back with Nepal Ascent Treks. I first booked a trip with them 8 years ago to Everest Base Camp with an additional trip to Chitwan. 

I’ve just this week completed a 2 week itinerary organised by Sittal the founder of Nepal Ascent. I told him how many days I had available, options of what I would like to do and he made everything possible and more. 

We had an amazing guide called Ram - please request him when booking your trips. He speaks perfect English, is so informative and didn’t hesitate to educate us about anything along the way. Questions about mountains, animal and plant/flower species? He knows it all! He was also a breath of fresh air on a morning in keeping a positive attitude for the day. Exactly the kind of person you’d want as your guide. 

Nepal Ascent have been extremely reliable since day 1 all those 8 years ago and they just continue to get better and better. I look forward to my 3rd trip with them one day!

I booked a trip toEbc and  Island  Peak in october 2023. For my preparation Sittal was always available for requests before the trip and helped me a lot to organize everything.

In Nepal it was an excellent support, starting from the welcome of my guide Pema at arrival. He is a very experienced guide and I felt always safe during the trek though his company. We had a perfect summit day together. After our return to Kathmandu and farewell dinner Sittal was still a help for all my questions and helped me to organize my last days in Nepal.

Altogether I appreciate the very professional and individual support of the whole team of Nepal Ascent! I fully can recommend this trekking company to everyone.

The trip was amazing! View was fantastic and the trail was challenging but yet rewarding. Couldn’t have gone through the whole difficult trail with my guide Padam, he is the most efficient and well-versed in terms of the track. Will definitely come back next time with Padam for the Everest trail. The food in Nepal is a bit of an acquired taste however the good thing is during this whole journey you would definitely be in good shape. I highly recommend Padam as your tour guide, not only is he fun, but also will make this the best experience for you, as he did for me

Fantastic solo tailored trek, Everest Region (Oct.-Nov.) by Nepal Ascent

I had a fabulous time while trekking for 30 days through breathtaking landscape and mountain villages in the Everest region with Ram as guide and Dinesh as second helper. My personalized itinerary, designed by Sittal, was excellent, starting with the Pikey Peak trek from Dhap, picking up the Classic Everest BC route before Junbesi, then after Namche Bazaar trekking to Gokyo, returning down the valley, over to Phortse, then Pangboche, Pheriche (and a day hike to Dingboche), finishing in Phaplu.

Ram and Dinesh were fantastic: professional, friendly, dedicated, and attentive, making sure the trek went smoothly and my stays at lodges were comfortable, interesting and enjoyable. Ram shared his knowledge every day about local culture, flora and fauna, the area’s geography and the spectacular mountain peaks we could see or would soon approach. He kept things safe on the trail, especially when the pack animals came by. Dinesh was always helpful with my duffel bag and at the lodges, and made delicious snacks to go along with afternoon tea.

I was impressed with how Ram was attentive to my interests and preferences and would take them into account throughout the trek. One early example is when we spoke about local dishes in Junbesi. I was curious about the ingredients and locally-grown vegetables, especially my favorite greens, which turned out to be mustard leaves. The next day was a rest and explore day, and on our way to the Thubtenchoeling Monastery (one of the high points of the trek), we passed vegetable gardens, and Ram pointed out the mustard leaves and other plants – very timely! After that, we’d take note of the vegetables and the crops on mountain terraces – and as always, the monasteries, mani walls, mountains and more - with Ram cheerfully explaining and answering my questions as we trekked onwards.

Ram and Dinesh made an excellent team and were very thoughtful. And on the mornings at higher altitude, when it felt very cold upon waking, what a difference it made with Ram and Dinesh making sure strong black coffee and a bowl of steaming oatmeal porridge with fruit, a favorite breakfast, were ready when I got to the dining room. I even learned some Nepali phrases with their encouragement and practiced with the families running the lodges.

Throughout the trek I could appreciate how well Sittal designed the itinerary, and I would definitely suggest inquiring about tailoring an itinerary or adding extra days if you are solo or a private group. Starting out with the Pikey Peak cultural trek was something new -- a nice surprise and brilliant way to avoid flights (I had told Sittal I wanted to avoid flights and stay under 5000m, and asked him to include extra days to visit sites and take day hikes). Three days into the trek we had views of Everest and other well-known peaks from the top of Pikey Peak (4065m), while from the start it was possible to learn about local culture up close. The rest and explore days were great, and after reading about Namche Bazaar since the 1980s, seeing this village was special. Perhaps due to the extra days of trekking to reach Sagarmatha National Park and Namche, it felt easier to trek as we reached higher altitudes, with no altitude-related issues for me even at our maximum above 4800m. The itinerary lent itself to adjustments, for example making a day shorter or longer.

Support before and after the trek was also top notch. This included meeting with Sittal in the hotel lobby area (he helped arrange extra days there for me and was always available); meeting with Ram to ensure my gear and clothing were suitable for the itinerary; the welcome dinner with Ram and the dinner after the trek with Sittal; the excellent drivers who took us to and from the trek start and finish and handled airport transfers.

I highly recommend Nepal Ascent and the team for their professionalism, expertise and dedication to making my trekking experience memorable, interesting, safe and fun. Many thanks to all!
