We made this program to keep the island clean and fight plastic pollution! What gets washed up from the sea also goes back if not picked up, causing contamination in the water and endangering marine animals. By keeping our oceans and beaches clean, we can positively impact sea turtle populations and marine ecosystems as a whole. It protects the wildlife, prevents pollution, and preserves nesting sites which is extremely important in our case as we are located by the Caribbean Sea where hundreds of sea turtles come and lay their eggs each year. Our program offers a remarkable opportunity for volunteers to immerse themselves in the vibrant culture of Costa Rica.
