Program Highlights

Care for sloths, kinkajous, monkeys, parrots, and other Costa Rican animals.

Enjoy a fun day exploring Manuel Antonio National Park, where you might see two-toed and three-toed sloths, howler monkeys, squirrel and spider monkeys, coatis, pacas, and anteaters in the wild.

Learn from dedicated veterinarians about the identification, physiology, and veterinary care of Costa Rican mammals, reptiles, and birds.

Learn about zoonotic diseases, necropsy, nutrition, diagnostics and therapies, wildlife immobilization, and how to ensure the welfare of wild species in captivity.

Perform behavioral observation and design a goal-oriented enrichment project for an animal at the center.

This program really opened my mind to a variety of opportunities. The staff were so experienced & willing to share their knowledge, and I loved the lectures & activities. This trip was full of once in a lifetime experience & I'm so grateful for Loop!

I loved practicing sutures and watching necropsies because I'm very interested in veterinary surgery. This is the best summer program I've ever been on! After this experience I would love to go on another Loop Abroad trip!
