Women face a lot of hardship. Domestic abuse, child marriage, uneducated in favor of male children.

The Living Music Foundation realized how much music and performance training can transform the lives of women we work with, building confidence and self esteem, enabling access to a better future.

We partner with women's refuge groups around our local area of Mbarara and take great pride in spending time training them musically, but also personally.

Our trainings revolve around strong messages of female empowerment and the worth of female lives beyond being mothers and wives.

Many of the women we work with have escaped from violent marriages, or forced child marriages and formed these groups to create a better life for themselves.

Music and performance sparks joy, as well as giving women the confidence to speak out, and believe in themselves and their power.

Volunteers will work alongside LMF to teach music lessons, and also incorporate empowerment themed activities. By taking part in these program you will get to live and experience daily life in the beautiful Western Uganda with a local family home stay, as well as changing lives through music and empowering local women!
