Located in the heart of Beirut, the Lebanese Arabic Institute offers a comprehensive and structured program of study in colloquial Lebanese Arabic. This program is rooted in the conviction that learning to speak colloquial Arabic is no less important than learning to read and write Modern Standard Arabic, and is essential for anyone seeking a true immersion experience in the Arab world.

We teach Lebanese Arabic with our materials, a series of innovative textbooks, and audio entitled "Lebanese Arabic from Scratch". These materials have been designed to help students communicate effectively in the Arabic that is spoken in Lebanon (which is very similar to that spoken in Syria, Jordan, and Palestine), while at the same time providing students with the conceptual framework to bridge the gap between spoken Arabic and Modern Standard Arabic as they progress in their studies and linguistic abilities. 

Students may cover some or all of our program by taking group classes or private/customized classes. We offer a full complement of group classes in Lebanese Arabic throughout the year.
