Join us this summer for an amazing volunteer placement in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Our orphanage program is ideal for international students and professionals.

Volunteering in the orphanage is quite similar to our daytime teaching projects. You’ll help local teachers conduct their lessons, support student learning, and lead activities like drawing, sports, and games. On top of these, you’ll assist with the general care of orphans. You'll also handle other duties such as cleaning the dormitories, washing clothes, helping with meal preparation (for the children), and playing with and entertaining kids. 

While this program involves a more demanding role than the teaching project, it's also highly rewarding as you build an emotional bond with the children while caring for and supporting them. You can become very attached to some of the kids you work with, so we’ll help you maintain that attachment by sponsoring one of the children on your return home should you wish to continue with such a relationship.
