Izizwe Projects in Walmer Township focuses on providing services that the local youth and children normally lack, including access to sports and leisure activities due to few opportunities in the poor community.

Izizwe provides schools, creches, and other organizations with sports coaching, holiday programs, and dance/theater programs. Volunteers get involved by collaborating with the local team in providing a service that doesn't just offer a healthy lifestyle choice but also life skills, social skills, and personal development to underprivileged children.

Our program during school holidays is hugely popular, as we entertain and provide a meal to 250+ children who have nothing else to do while taking a break from their lessons.

We also have a swimming program, wherein we organize small groups of kids and teach them a basic life skill—swimming! Something we believe every child is entitled to learn. 

Izizwe is a nonprofit working with the support of local volunteers from the community, with international volunteers adding value by setting up new programs and contributing where they can.
