IPSL's Peru program is based in historic Cusco, the capital of the Incan Empire, a short distance from the magical Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. This unique program has been developed to build an ongoing commitment to the Cusco community through various service-learning placements in partnership with local NGOs. 

While improving your Spanish language skills, study Community Organization and Social Activism (COSA) and choose courses in:
• Indigenous Knowledge, Health, and Human Rights in Peru
• Environmental Justice as a Social Movement
• Advocacy Research in the Field
• Independent Study​

Service opportunities may include:
• Promoting entrepreneurship for women and youth
• Teaching English
• Child development at a rural school
• Health care - children/young adults with disabilities 
• Working at a residential home for abandoned children with Down Syndrome
• Promoting intercultural work 
• Working on environmental projects with indigenous people

The accommodation is with a Cusco family, allowing you to live like a "Cusqueño".

IPSL accepts AmeriCorps Education Awards and Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA) is available for eligible students.
